About This Blog
When I first became a mum I was nervous about going out. The thought of finding parking, changing facilities and breastfeeding in public were all very daunting, and I imagined getting it wrong and everyone staring at me as my child was upset. I found myself trawling online looking for information on where to go, but there wasn’t much available. However getting out did wonders for my confidence and was a real boost. Therefore I wanted to write reviews of the places I go and my adventures with a buggy – so if it helps at least one other mum get out it will be worth it.
I would also love to hear your suggestions on where to go and where to avoid so please get in touch.
This blog also contains other posts which are just my various thoughts on motherhood and learning as I go along, so I hope you like them.
I am a first time mum to a beautiful little girl (I would say that – I am her proud mother after all and constantly amazed by her) and live in north county Dublin in a house by the seaside with my husband. I am currently on maternity leave from work (best thing ever!).
Back in the real world I am a quality manager for a large company (all views here are my own). My job entails writing standard operation procedures and then monitoring to see if they are followed, or if the processes need refining to keep improving quality. Yeah in other words boring office work. It does mean I am a bit of a control freak and like things to be ordered. I love a good to-do list (who doesn’t?).
So I’m sure you can imagine the shock to the system that a baby brought. They certainly don’t come with an instruction manual or follow logical patterns.
So Why Write a Blog?
I don’t have perfect photos and I’m not a genius crafty person so I would never have considered myself worthy of a blog. But I enjoy writing. It’s a good way to relieve stress by letting out thoughts and making sense of them – and it’s cheaper than therapy.
I don’t have a product to sell or any sponsors (but if any fancy getting in touch feel free – hint hint).
